How do I save my own AI-generated songs as separate audio files?

If your music tool offers an original download, use that for your master file. For a short browser playback you are allowed to record, Tabtone can capture the selected tab, suggest separate tracks at quiet gaps and export each one as MP3 or WAV.

Keep a useful listening copy

You have a few versions of a song and want to listen away from the browser, share a permitted draft with a collaborator or keep the chorus you are evaluating. A short, clearly named listening copy is easier to work with than a page full of similar playback buttons.

First check the music tool’s own export options and the permissions that apply to your output. A browser recording captures playback; it does not retrieve the original generated file, separate instruments or restore quality missing from the source.

Record the part you need

  1. Open the song in desktop Chrome and cue the passage you want. Pause playback while you set up. If several versions play in the same tab, decide their order first.
  2. Open Tabtone from Chrome’s Extensions menu. Check the selected source and the recording length, then click Record this tab before starting playback.
  3. Keep the complete take inside the selected limit. Free takes stop and save at three minutes. For a passage that needs more room, enable Try Pro preview, then confirm the ten-minute option is selected before starting a new take; this is a local preview, with no purchase connected.
  4. If you play several short songs in one take, leave a clear quiet gap between them. Open Tabtone again and choose Stop & save when you finish.
  5. In the studio, use Preview on each suggested track. Adjust Split when silence lasts if the gaps did not produce the separation you expected.

Check the music before exporting

A musical breakdown or a quiet intro can look like silence. If a song is split inside a quiet passage, use Merge at to remove that boundary. You can also lower the threshold under Fine-tune quiet audio; the quiet music guide explains the distinction between the gap and threshold controls.

Click the recording’s large title to name the session, then name the individual tracks before exporting each one. Use names such as “Evening sketch — version B” rather than relying on the original browser tab title. Choose MP3 for a compact listening copy or read the MP3 and WAV comparison if you plan to edit the captured audio.

The result is a small set of identifiable files. Keep the original music export alongside them when available, and compare versions using the same passage so the listening copies answer a useful creative question.

Keep a little audio of your own.
